The place is to the east of Pattadakal along the Malaprabha river. It is at height of 590 m and was the first capital of the early Chalukyas. Nearest railhead is Badami (46 kms).
Bahubali
On the top of the 5 feet 10 inch tall statue of Bahubali here, there are pictures of Gandharvas. This has been erected during the middle of 7th century during the period of Immadi Pulakeshi and Ravikeerthi.
