BASTI HOSAKOTE

The place is behind the Krishnarajasagar reservoir, to the north of the river Cauvery close to its banks, near Mavinakere village, Krishnarajapet taluk in Mandya district.
Bahubali
The statue here is 14.5 feet tall. This statue is not very well maintained. This is known to be a statue chiseled there out of soap-stone. Surrounding this statue there are relics of Jain temples built during the times of the Gangas and Vishnuvardhana. This idol might have been installed by Somaiah and Puni-samaiah who were officers in the court of Vishnuvardhana.
